Daily snapshots pile up faster than expected. What finally stuck for me:
restic forget --keep-daily 7 --keep-weekly 5 --keep-monthly 6 --prune
Run it weekly, not after every backup, and check restic stats --mode raw-data once a month to see whether pruning actually freed anything.
